Rosalita’s Puppets was formed by actor and puppeteer Charlotte Anne Dore 27 years ago when she got hired to be a puppeteer at King Richard’s Faire. Since then she has travelled throughout New England with her award winning marionette shows, hand puppet shows, children’s storytelling, and adult ghost tales. The presentations are original, with singing and audience participation. There are over 20 shows and 100 puppets in the company’s repertoire. Charlotte and Rosalita’s Puppets have worked for Read Boston, The City of Boston, The ICA, The Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum, The Syracuse Puppet and Mask Theater, birthday parties, festivals, libraries and schools etc.This year she has developed a variety of virtual programming.
Charlotte worked with Oscar Winner Tom Woodruff on the Kevin James movie “Zookeeper” where she assisted his team with the puppetry for the life size gorilla. She also toured nationally with Underground Railway Theatre in their production of “Are You Ready My Sister” as actor/ shadow puppeteer and more recently built puppets for their production of Christmas Carol.
With her degree in Creative Arts from Nottingham Trent University ( which included a semester at The Art Institute of Chicago) Charlotte has all round skills:- building, writing, conceiving ideas, acting and selling her shows. She has presented at puppetry slams in the past and Charlotte is a proud member of Puppeteers of America, Actors Equity and SAG/AFTRA.
